Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions

In this course, students will learn how to build web applications. Students should also have experience with the Microsoft Azure platform and a basic understanding of the services offered in Azure.

This course offers students the opportunity to take an existing web application and expand its functionality as part of moving it to Azure. The course does not require any existing experience with the ASP.NET platform but does require experience with C#. This course focuses on the development considerations and decisions necessary when building a highly available solution in the cloud. This course also prepares the students for the 70-532: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions certification exam.

Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions

In this course, students will learn how to provision and manage services in Microsoft Azure. Learn how to implement infrastructure components such as virtual networks, virtual machines, containers, web and mobile apps, and storage in Azure. Students will also review how to plan for and manage Azure AD, and configure Azure AD integration with on-premises Active Directory domains.

This course incorporates materials from the Official Microsoft Learning Product 20533 and can assist students in their preparation for Exam 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions.

Developing SQL Databases

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to develop a Microsoft SQL Server database. The course focuses on teaching individuals how to use SQL Server product features and tools related to developing a database.

Developing SQL Data Models

This course teaches students how to implement both multidimensional and tabular data models by using SQL Server Analysis Services. Students will also learn how to create cubes, dimensions, measures, and measure groups as well as the components, architecture and nature of a BI solution.

Analyzing Data with Excel

This course will provide students with the ability to add BI techniques to Excel data analysis. The course goes beyond the capabilities of tables and charts and uses Pivot Charts, the Excel Data Model, and Power BI.

Using SharePoint for Project Management

In this course, students will learn how to use SharePoint as project management information system. They will learn about task management, using the new task features and integration with Microsoft Project, coordinating resources, communicating project updates to stakeholders, and the most efficient ways to organize sites.

 

Students will learn to implement Agile and Scrum projects in SharePoint as well as traditional waterfall and highly structured project management methodologies. In addition, they will learn about all new features such as Site Mailboxes and project reporting features. They will also learn how to automate many project functions using SharePoint workflows.

 

This class is packed with hands-on labs to reinforce class topics and provide students with the skills to successfully manage project artifacts, develop workflows to automate project management processes, manage content such as documents, calendars, risks, issues, and deliverables, and track tasks and resource usage. Students will  learn best practices for implementing SharePoint project management sites and practical ideas for implementing the solutions within organization.

Azure Infrastructure and Deployment

This five day course is designed for system administrators who are transitioning into Azure, as well as IT professionals who have experience with Azure and want to expand their competencies. The course takes a full day to dive deep into each of five important technologies within Azure. The first day focuses on managing Azure using standard tools such as the portal, templates, and monitoring options. The next three days cover the foundations of Infrastructure as a Service. Students will learn about virtual machines, virtual networks, and storage options through expert instruction and hands-on experience. Each of these topics is covered over a full day, giving the opportunity to dive deep into topics such as virtual machine customization, hybrid networking, and storage security. Finally, the course covers authentication, account management, and integration using Azure AD.

Azure Integration and Security

This four day course offers students expert instruction and hands-on experience with advanced concepts in Azure.  The course begins with in-depth coverage of workload migration into Azure, covering strategy, tools, and best practices. The course then covers serverless compute options such as web applications, application service environments, function apps, and logic apps. The course also covers advanced networking concepts such as load balancing and advanced hybrid connectivity options.  Finally the course covers powerful identity protection tools available within Azure. Each of these topics is taught over an entire day, giving students the opportunity to dive deep into the concepts, ask questions, and spend time practicing techniques in our hands on lab environment.

Microsoft Excel 2016 - Level 3/Advanced

This course teaches students how to analyze and report data frequently as well as work in collaboration with others to deliver actionable insights. Students will learn how to keep and maintain workbooks for all purposes, as well as automate complex or repetitive tasks, and use conditional logic to construct and apply elaborate formulas and functions that will put the power of Excel at their fingertips. Students will also learn how to perform advanced data analysis, and automate workbook functionality.

Microsoft Excel - Level 1/Intro (2010, 2013, 2016)

This course teaches students the foundations of Microsoft Office Excel. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to easily create and work with electronic spreadsheets. Students will learn to create, format, and enhance simple spreadsheets, as well as the skills to perform calculations and analyze the data that is critical to the success of their organization.

Microsoft Excel - Level 2/Med (2010, 2013, 2016)

This course teaches students some of the higher-level functionality in Excel to analyze and present data. Students will learn how to use formulas and advanced functions, create and format tables, sort and filter, add and format graphics, and protect and finalize their work. Students will also learn to work with functions and lists, create advanced formulas, and work with the custom view. Students will be able to leverage the power of data calculations and presentation in order to make informed, intelligent organizational decisions.

Introduction to Microsoft Azure for IT Professionals

This course provides the underlying knowledge required by all individuals who will be evaluating Microsoft Azure, whether they are administrators, developers, or database administrators. This course also provides the prerequisite knowledge for students wishing to attend Course 20532D: Developing Microsoft Azure Solutions, or Course 20533D: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions.

During this course, students will be introduced to the principles of cloud computing and will become familiar how these principles have been implemented in Microsoft Azure. Students will walk through the process of implementing the core Azure infrastructure, consisting of virtual networks and storage and learn how to create the most common Azure services, including Azure virtual machines (VMs), Web Apps, and SQL Databases. Students will conclude the course by describing features of Azure AD and methods of integrating it with on-premises Active Directory.

Updating Your Skills to SQL Server 2016

Configuring Advanced Windows Server Services

In this course, students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to implement a core Windows Server, including Windows Server R2 infrastructure in an existing enterprise environment. Students will also learn the advanced configuration and services tasks needed to implement, manage, and maintain a Windows Server infrastructure. This course will also cover advanced networking services, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), identity management, rights management, Federated services, network load balancing, failover clustering, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure

In this course, students will gain the skills and knowledge needed to plan, design, and deploy a physical and logical Windows Server 2012 R2 infrastructure. Implementing an Advanced Server Infrastructure

In this course, students will learn how to plan, design, and deploy physical and logical Windows Server 2012 R2 enterprise environments. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to plan and implement a highly available, secure infrastructure with focus on Active Directory Federation Service (AD FS), public key infrastructure (PKI), and Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS). In this workshop students will learn real-time analytics without IoT. Students will enable intelligent conversation in a machine learning-enabled, real-time chat pipeline and apply analytics to visualize customer sentiment in real-time for hospitals to allow guests to chat with one another and to communicate directly with the concierge.

SQL Server Performance Tuning and Optimization

In this course, students will learn practical tuning and optimization techniques for SQL Server 2014 that include indexing and statistics strategies, transaction log operations, tempdb and data file configuration, transaction and isolation levels, locking and blocking, and the new In-Memory OLTP engine. Students will learn how to create baselines and benchmark SQL Server performance as well as analyze and fix workload for performance issues.

Power BI Fundamentals for End Users-2016

This course is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the capabilities of Power BI. Students will discover how to quickly gather, cleanse and transform data with just a few clicks. They will also learn that to enhance results by integrating disparate data sources and add simple calculations using DAX functions and queries. Students will create visualizations and incorporate them into dashboards that can provide up to the minute reporting. At the end of this course, the students will have a solid understanding of the skills required to use Power BI.

Power Pivot and Power Query for Excel 2016

This course teaches students the add-ins that expand and combine the features and capabilities of Excel. Students will learn PowerPivot, Power Query, Power View, 3D maps and their features. Students will also learn how to import, manipulate and work with large amounts of data from a variety of data sources both inside and outside Excel. Students will learn the techniques for manipulating querying data, the structure of DAX functions, ways to distribute and visualize data using Pivot Charts, Slicers, Sparklines, Timelines, Power View and 3D maps.
